Management
Hervé Kieffel (Managing Director) has been a risk analyst for corporations and governments since 1992.
By making use of valuation and management science techniques such as real options, optimization, decision analysis
and finance theory, he provides his clients with invaluable insights about the risks of their ventures and the
optimal strategy to manage them in the face of uncertainty.
He worked as a Scientific Adviser to the French Department of Transportation from 1992 to 1997 with a focus on
macroecomic analysis of public policy. From 1998 to 2001 he refined and applied Real Option Valuation techniques
for corporate clients at Applied Decision Analysis (a then-subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he became
a sought-after manager.
Hervé obtained a Ph.D. from Stanford in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research in 1998,
a Masters from the same department in 1993, and a Bachelors/Masters of Science from Ecole Polytechnique (France)
in 1990. He is currently Assistant Professor (Consulting) at Stanford University where he teaches mathematical
modeling at the graduate level in the School of Engineering.
